2024 Renovation
We are building an addition on the north side of the library building, which will include an accessible multi-purpose room for programs, events, and meetings. When completed in 2025, the addition will provide the perfect space for music making, arts & crafts, discussion groups, civic meetings, presentations, board game nights, children’s storytimes & activities, outreach from other community organizations, and so much more. We are very excited to have this space, and we hope you will come visit often!
From May 30th 2024 to spring 2025, the regular library location at 28 Jaffrey Road is closed. However, most library services are still available at our temporary location at 108 Main Street (former location of Frogg Brewing).
Library services available during the transition:
- Hours: Our regular hours have not changed at our new temporary location.
- Limited access to the collection: Some books and movies are in storage, but our newest and most popular material is with us at 108 Main St. We continue to purchase new books, so please come by to check out the selection!
- Public PCs, printing, and WiFi
- Regular events: Our regular book clubs, acoustic jam session, storytimes, activity hours, etc. continue at our temporary space (and sometimes off-site/outdoors!).
- ILL: You can still get books and movies from other libraries in NH. We encourage you to do this!
- Reference services: We don’t have access to our print and local history resources, but we're still able to help with most research or technology questions.
- Book Drop: This is now in the back parking lot of 108 Main St (turn down Wilcox Ct to access).
Library services not available during the transition:
- Collection: Some of our books and movies are in storage until spring 2025. Most items are available through interlibrary loan – ask a librarian if you need something!
- Library of things: Most of our nontraditional items are in storage with our collection, except the OWL camera, which is still available for checkout.
- Friends bookstore: The Friends of Frost Free Library bookstore will be limited during construction. You can still support library programs and services by donating to the Friends, and you can find a limited selection of books for sale at the Homestead Thrift Shop or on the for-sale cart at 108 Main St.
- Meeting space: Our temporary space is not big enough to accommodate reservations for meeting space. You are still welcome to come hang out!
Don't hesitate to give us a call at 603-876-4479 or stop by if you have any questions.
Many thanks to everyone who has supported this project!! It could not have been done without the committed and generous support of so many community members in so many different ways.
