Happy Birthday, Frost Free Library!
Did you know that your library, Frost Free, was given and accepted by Rufus S. Frost to the Town of Marlborough, NH, on this day in 1867?
Mr. Frost desired to aid the people of his native town ‘forever’. This original gift consisted of land, a Greek Revival granite Building furnished with shelves, approximately 2000 (today’s collections houses over 10,500) books and an income from an endowment. He also established the Charter providing for the Board of Trustees.
