Mudluscious! “Spring has sprung the grass is riz’ I wonder where the birdies iz.”

March is coming to an end in her muddy, shivery way. The birds are singing up a storm. Looking forward to more signs of spring. The library has had some wonderful bustle-y days. Thursdays we were bursting with game night, trustee meeting and girl scouts upstairs. All made extra special as Officer Beha dropped in to get to know everyone. It feels so good for the library to be full-ish again. Patron have kept us supplied with tulips and pussy willows to get through the dark days and we all have enjoyed them SO MUCH. Girl Scouts have shored up our cookie supplies for tea. All is well in the Library.

We hosted another vaccine clinic with our friends at the Center for Population Health but were sorry to hear some folks didn’t know about it and most who came stumbled upon it. We are working on improving our outreach to the community. Wherever possible we print events to the Marlborough Bulletin but they have to be in by the 15th of the previous month and a LOT can happen or be rescheduled in that time. We post in the library, post office and town office as well as our Facebook and Instagram accounts. National Library Week comes up Sunday, April 3-Saturday, April 9th and we’ve planned a whole week of digital and IRL (in real life) invitations. Join us and look for more info in the Bulletin and Facebook or at the Library.

One of our favorite signs of spring is a visit from the latest crop of Earth Haven lambs. Mary Iselin will join us during school vacation week, Thursday, April 28th at 3:00 pm, for stories, craft and Baaaa… Mark your calendars! If you are staycationing during the break, come visit to explore the library of things; Starblast Telescope, SnapCircuits, Potatoe Head, Puzzles and Games. All can be checked out just like a book. We’ll have Brick & Magnet Tile building challenges, Free Bean Seeds from the Seed Library and more. Bring a friend and rediscover YOUR library. Grand kids welcome.

I always look forward to the Spring Rummage at the Community House and the First Garden Fairy work day at the library. Can’t wait to get some dirt under my nails and look for signs of green. See you soon. Kristin
